Barramundi Fishing in the Townsville area
The waters around Townsville provide outstanding fishing for Big Barramundi. An Australian icon, the Barramundi is a prized and sort after fish by most recreational anglers.
Known for its fighting spirit, size and taste, it can be found in fresh and saltwater and will eat almost anything (including other barramundi).

Size – in Queensland is 58cm min and 120cm max.
Limit – 5 per person / 10 per boat (with 2 or more people on board).
Diet – Juveniles eat small fish, insects and small crustaceans, such as prawns. Adults eat mainly fish and crustaceans.
Predators – Predators include larger fish, birds and reptiles, such as the saltwater crocodile. Barramundi also prey upon each other.
Exclusion Times – 1st November through to 31st January (Qld).
